Primare AI, a company that installs and maintains client-owned AI systems, today announced Primare P1, their flagship appliance that arrives staffed with eight virtual employees. Their roster runs from a receptionist that answers 24 hours a day to an executive officer the owner can ask about anything happening in the company. Primare P1 installs on the client's premises, is configured to the individual business and is maintained by Primare.
"AI is becoming the most important capability a business has," said Jonathan Kirkland, co-founder of Primare AI. "I don't believe the most important capability a business has should be rented. With Primare P1, the client owns the hardware, they own their data, and they own the intelligence the system builds about their business."
AI capabilities for business are generally rented, models running in third-party data centers, billed per seat or per use, with the business's data passing through infrastructure the business does not control. On many tiers that data also trains the vendor's next models, which the business then rents back. Primare P1 is sold on the opposite basis. The client purchases the appliance outright, keeps their data on their own premises and runs the system as much as they want. The work is performed by open-weight AI models on the appliance itself, so the cost of operating the system does not change with the volume of work it performs. Pricing is published at primare.ai.
"A subscription hands you a tool and a bill," Kirkland said. "Primare P1 hands you 24/7 staff. The receptionist answers at 2 a.m. The marketing manager updates weekend campaigns as they happen. You get direct answers about the state of your business day or night. That is the difference between using AI and employing it."
Each virtual employee is configured to the individual business based on its services, its language and its rules.
Receptionist. Answers phone calls, texts, emails, web chat and direct messages on Instagram and Facebook, 24 hours a day, using the business's own service descriptions, policies and terminology.
Sales Assistant. Contacts and re-contacts inbound leads by phone, text and email, on the business's own schedule and in its own voice.
Executive Officer. The owner's main point of contact. Answers questions about anything happening in the business and draws on the work of the other seven virtual employees to do it.
Business Analyst. Reads the numbers the business already produces, including website, phone and social analytics along with sales, proposals and outstanding invoices, and reports what changed.
Marketing Manager. Plans and runs the business's marketing and includes a content creation specialist that drafts posts, shorts and reels in the business's own voice, published to Instagram, Facebook, Google Business Profile, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Bluesky and X.
Reputation Manager. Sends review requests to the business's customers, monitors Google Business Profile for new reviews and responds within minutes.
Market Researcher. Tracks competitors and pricing in the business's market and builds research for business-to-business sales outreach.
Recruiter. Researches candidates, screens applicants and responds to them so hiring keeps moving.
Primare P1 keeps room for your team to grow, with Primare offering custom virtual employees to order for the unique needs of a client, designed around the specific work that costs that business the most.
Primare P1 also carries a private document vault, a secure store for the business's own documents, all searchable with plain language. The documents and every answer about them stay on the appliance, and are never used for model training.
Installation and Maintenance. Primare installs the appliance on site in one day and maintains the deployment under an ongoing service contract. The client can end the service contract at any time and keep their data. For businesses that need higher volume across more users, a higher-capacity configuration, P1 Max, is available.
Primare serves small and mid-sized businesses in home services, legal, financial services, real estate and automotive, among other industries. The company sets out its case for owned AI in "Private Intelligence," a white paper available at primare.ai/rent-vs-own.
Availability
