Former Detroit Criminal Justice Attorney Steven Vincent Joins Nicolet Law to Fight for Injured Michiganders

Oct 14, 2026

Detroit, Michigan – Nicolet Law, a Midwest personal injury firm, has welcomed attorney Steven Vincent to its Michigan team. A lifelong Michigan resident with almost two decades in the law, Vincent has built his career standing up for the people of Detroit when they need it most, first in the criminal justice system and now for injured people and their families.

Vincent spent 18 years in Detroit’s criminal justice system, including work with the City of Detroit Law Department, where he handled hundreds of criminal cases. He saw firsthand how one moment can change a family’s life. Today he carries that same commitment to the civil side of the law, fighting for Detroit residents hurt by someone else’s carelessness.

“I grind, I get out there, I work harder than anyone, and I win.  And I used that philosophy when I worked for the City of Detroit’s Law Department, representing the people in that area against crimes ranging from homicide and carjackings to domestic violence and assaults.  It’s truly a simple concept, but comes with substantial and rewarding results.” said Vincent.

At Nicolet Law, Vincent fights for people hurt in car, truck, and motorcycle crashes, for families who have lost a loved one, and for survivors of sexual assault and abuse in civil cases. He has taken cases to Michigan state and federal courts.

His dedication to Detroit runs deep. Vincent earned his Bachelor of Public Affairs from Wayne State University in Detroit in 2002, where he served as student council vice president and led the campus Rock the Vote effort to get young people involved in their community.

He earned his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing in 2007, where he competed in mock trial, made the Dean’s List, and received Certificate of Merit book awards in Evidence and Michigan No-Fault, the law that governs benefits after a motor vehicle crash.

Vincent is admitted to practice in Michigan and in the U.S. federal district courts in Michigan. He approaches every case with hard work, thorough preparation, and a Midwestern can-do attitude.

Vincent joins Nicolet Law’s Michigan team, which serves clients from offices in Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Lansing. The firm’s Detroit office at 1420 Washington Blvd., Suite 301, gives downtown Detroit residents a place to turn close to home.

Michigan’s auto insurance system works differently from most states. After a crash, injured people deal with their own insurer for medical and wage benefits while pursuing a claim against the driver who caused it. Vincent guides clients through both paths and the deadlines that come with each.

Outside the office, Vincent is a husband, a father of adult children, and the owner of a Bouvier des Flandres.

Nicolet Law offers free consultations, and calls are answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at 1-855-NICOLET.
