Dr. Bradley Radwaner’s NY Practice Introduces Heart Attack Risk Assessment

Nov 4, 2026

The New York Center for the Prevention of Heart Disease has launched a preventive cardiology assessment that evaluates an adult’s individual risk of a heart attack and guides a personalized prevention plan, led by founder and medical director Dr. Bradley Radwaner.

-- The New York Center for the Prevention of Heart Disease launched a preventive cardiology assessment, effective as of October 23, 2026, designed to evaluate an adult’s individual risk of a heart attack and to guide a personalized prevention plan. The assessment is led by Dr. Bradley Radwaner, the center’s founder and medical director, and is available to adults across the New York metropolitan area.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death globally, taking an estimated 17.9 million lives each year, according to the World Health Organization. The WHO notes that behavioral risk factors such as unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, tobacco use and harmful use of alcohol can show up as raised blood pressure, raised blood glucose, raised blood lipids, and overweight and obesity. These intermediate risk factors can be measured, and they indicate an increased risk of heart attack, stroke and other complications.

“The core of what we do is help patients get ahead of heart disease rather than react to it,” said Dr. Radwaner. “Whether a patient is managing existing risk factors or seeking proactive care, our job is to guide them toward better heart health.”

The assessment begins with a detailed conversation rather than a single test. Dr. Radwaner reviews each patient’s medical and family history, any prior heart attack or stroke, blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, tobacco use, weight, diet, physical activity, alcohol use and current medications. Where appropriate, a cardiovascular risk calculator is used to help estimate individual risk.

Decisions about further testing depend on each patient’s symptoms, history and clinical judgment. When additional evaluation is warranted, follow-up testing may include advanced cholesterol testing, cardiac imaging or long-term heart rhythm monitoring, all of which the center offers. Test selection is tailored to the individual rather than applied uniformly to every patient.

“Our greatest satisfaction comes from detecting heart disease before it becomes life-threatening, when medical care and prevention will be most successful,” Dr. Radwaner added. “A careful assessment gives patients and their physicians a clearer picture of individual risk and a sound basis for decisions about preventive treatment.”

The center operates as a concierge cardiology practice built around longer, unhurried visits. It is out of network with insurance providers and does not charge a membership fee, which the practice says allows care decisions to be made without insurance company constraints.

For adults in the New York metropolitan area who want to understand their chances of a first heart attack, the assessment is intended to identify modifiable risk factors early and to support a prevention plan built around each patient’s health profile. The approach reflects the focus on early detection that has guided Dr. Radwaner’s 30 years of practice.
